Review

This study aimed at determining the effectiveness of an educational program based on SCAMPER for developing creative writing to a sample of basic school students in Jordan. The sample of the study contained an experimental group (36 students) and a control group (35 students) among 9th grade basic school students in UNRWA in the first semester (2016/2017). In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a training program was constructed containing ten training sessions. The length of each session was sixty minutes. Then the researchers developed a rubric for measuring creative writing within five dimensions (fluency- flexibility- originality- Creative Writing mechanisms- organizing text content). After that, the results were analyzed using One-Way MANCOVA. The results of the study showed that there were significant differences at the level of (α≤.05) for the whole rubric and for all its sub-dimensions in favor of the experimental group. At the end, the results were discussed and some recommendations were suggested.
