Abstract:

This study aimed at investigating the level of Environmental Awareness among students of the Faculty of Arts at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan. The study sample consisted of (250) male and female students, who were randomly selected from the study population of (1009) students. To achieve the aims of the study, a 38-item questionnaire was developed by the researcher, covering the following domains: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor components. The results of the study showed that the level of environmental awareness among study sample was medium. The results also showed that the cognitive component of environmental awareness come first among the list of components of environmental awareness with a high level, while the emotional component came in second rank, and the psychomotor component ranked third with a medium level for each. In addition, the results showed that the level of environmental awareness among the study sample varies according to the gender variable in favor of female and varies according to the level of students' academic year in favor of fourth-year students. In light of these results, the study suggested a set of recommendations, such as attention to the affective and psychomotor components of environmental awareness.
