Abstract:

The study aims to identify the level of excessive use of electronic games and its relation with social skills among kindergarten children from mothers’ point of view in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate, using the descriptive correlative approach, on an accessible sample includes 362 mothers. The results show that the average of excessive use of electronic games among kindergarten children is (2.53), with a high level. The level of social skills is high, the average is (4.11). The results indicate that there are no significant differences in the excessive use of electronic games due to the sex of the child, or the educational level of mother, while the differences according to the work status of mother are in favor of working. The differences in social skills according to the sex of the child are statistically significant, except in the ​​social independence; it comes in favor of females. The results show that there is a statistically significant inverse relation between the excessive use of electronic games and social skills among kindergarten children. The value of Pearson correlation coefficient is (.312), where the excessive use of electronic games can predict (09.7%) of the social skills.
