Abstract:
The study aimed to know the level of job performance in its two dimensions (task performance and contextual performance) among employees in Palestinian private universities in the southern governorates. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical approach was relied upon. The study population consisted of employees working in private universities in the southern governorates of Palestine, which numbered (475) male and female employees. A stratified sample of (300) respondents was selected, to whom the study questionnaire was administered. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which were: the level of job performance in its two dimensions (task performance and contextual performance) came with a relative weight (64.511%), and with a degree of approval (medium). The level of task performance came with a relative weight (68.366), and with a degree of approval (large), and the level of contextual performance came with a relative weight (61.006), and with a degree (medium). There were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤0.05) between the averages of estimates on the level of job performance in its two dimensions (task performance and contextual performance) among employees in Palestinian private universities in the southern governorates due to the variable of academic qualification and job title. The study presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: The need for private universities to pay attention to the salary scale of their employees, and the need to develop a system of material and moral incentives, appreciate overtime, adopt a fair system for promotion and increase interest in social relations with employees.
