Field Day in Wadi Al-Qof Nature Reserve
Students from the College of Agriculture Plant Protection Research Center enjoyed a field day in the Reserve- on Wednesday 28/2/2018- in cooperation with Hebron Directorate of Agriculture, Environmental Quality Authority (EQA), with the support of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The research day is part of a running project; 'Achieving the Sustainability of the Wadi Al-Qof Natural Reserve through the Application of the Results of Research on the Ecology of Smart Agriculture' under the supervision of Prof. Radwan Barakat.
Dr. Ayed Mohamed, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Radwan Barakat, and Mr. Mohamed El Masry also participated and highlighted the role of the University in serving the local community, preserving the environment and increasing the community's environmental awareness. Eng. Osama Jarrar, Director of Hebron Directorate of Agriculture, spoke about the importance of Wadi Al-Qof Natural Reserve and practical solutions were suggested for incurring problems. The Mayor of Beit Kahel thanked the University, Hebron Agricultural Directorate and the Environmental Quality Authority for their efforts to preserve Wadi Al-Qof Reserve. Eng. Bahjat Jabareen, Director of the Environmental Quality Authority in Hebron, spoke about their role and the efforts made to preserve the natural reserves.
