College of Information Technology wins third place at Palestinian universities level in national programming competition

The team of the IT College (CodeKnights), consisting of Mohammed Bilal Al-Sharif - Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar Al-Shaarawi, and Lama Ibrahim Hafez, won third place in the national programming competition for Palestinian universities students ACM-PCPPPC 2022.

The team is qualified to represent Palestine in the regional competition in Egypt, where the team managed to resolve 11 of the 14 questions in record time. The competition was held in a highly competitive atmosphere over five continuous hours, with 74 teams from all Palestinian universities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip competing.

The University participated in two other groups:

  • IntegerX:  consisting of (Mohamed Hussam Al-Tamimi, Qusay Awada, and Ali Abdeen)
  • HebronStrings: consisting of (Hadeel Jaradat, Banan Shaher Al Jabba, and Dima Dababsa)

Mr. Amjad Al-Husseini, Head of the Department of Web and Multimedia Technology, supervised and trained the participating teams as this competition aims to develop the students' programming abilities in finding creative solutions to real problems.

It is worth mentioning that Hebron University has qualified for the second time in a row in the regional competition at the level of the Arab world.
