Hebron University Journal of Research Achieves 8th Place in 2024 Arab World’s Top Tier Category

Hebron University Journal of Research (Humanities), published by Hebron University, has achieved significant recognition by ranking 8th in the Arab World under the highest category (Q1) for impact factor and citations among Arab scientific journals for 2024. This recognition places it among the leading journals in the humanities field, selected from a pool of 252 journals across the Arab World.

The journal’s achievement comes after meeting the stringent Arcif accreditation criteria, which align with 32 international standards. The Arab Scientific Journals Impact and Citation Factor (ARCIF) released its seventh annual report for 2024, highlighting the top-performing scientific journals in the Arab world. The Arcif impact factor is governed by a Supervisory and Coordination Board comprising representatives from various Arab and international institutions, including the UNESCO Regional Office for Education in the Arab States in Beirut, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the Library of Alexandria, and the Marefa Database. Additionally, a distinguished scientific committee of experts and academics from several Arab countries and the United Kingdom oversees the accreditation process.

The Arcif evaluation process involved reviewing data from more than 5,000 titles of Arab scientific and research journals across various disciplines. Over 1,500 academic and research institutions publish these journals throughout the Arab world. Out of these, only 1,201 journals met the global accreditation standards set by the Arcif factor in the 2024 report.

In addition to this achievement, the Hebron University Journal of Research also saw notable progress in another influential metric, the Arab Impact Factor. In 2024, the journal’s Humanities edition achieved an impact factor of 2.32, while its Natural Sciences edition secured an impact factor of 1.33, reflecting significant improvement over the previous year’s performance.
