Hebron University participate in a conference on Education and Technology in The American University
Supported by the USAID and the AMIDEAST/PFDP, Hebron University team of the excellence center joined the AUC team and a team from the Teachers College in Colombia University (New York) to participate in a conference under the title:
“Challenges and Practices of Pedagogy and Instructional Technology: Professional Development Exchange for Palestinian Educators”
From March 11 to March 15, 2012
The other Palestinian universities which also participated in the conference were Al Najah, Bethlehem, Palestine Technical College, and Palestine Technical University.
The conference offered the possibility of professional networking, institutional collaboration, and future research among respective institutions.
The topics of presentations and discussions included:
- Celebrity, Violence, Resistance: Media analysis and Social Pedagogies
- Creating Learning Communities
- Making Thinking Visible: Learning and Teaching with Mind and Concept Maps
- Empowering Students Through Reflective Learning
- Peer Instruction: A Way for Interactive Classes
- Teaching with Multimedia; introducing Mediathread
- Enhancing Language Learning Through Web 2.0 Technologies
- The Course Portfolio as a Tool for Achieving Learning Outcomes
- Reflection Using Blogs in a Community-Based Learning Course
- Writing Effective Learning Outcomes
- E-Portfolios for Assessment and Showcasing
- How to Launch, Administer and Sustain Centers of Excellence.
The Excellence Team of Hebron University included Professor Ahmad Atawneh (Director of Center), Abeer al-Nathsheh (Pharmacy), Nael Sayyed Ahmad (Business) and Amjad al-Khateeb (Technology Assistant).
The Hebron Team established networks with the team of the AUC and that of the Teachers College in Colombia. There will be prospects for future collaborations with the two university faculties in exchanging visits and have joint collaborative work to serve the center.
