Plant Protection Research Center (PPRC) obtains funding for mass production of bio-fungicides and biofertilizers for the benefit of vegetable growers

 

The Plant Protection Research Center at the College of Agriculture obtained lately a grant for mass production of the native isolate of the bioagent Trichoderma harzianum (Jn 14) to be used by Palestinian vegetable growers at a large scale. PPRC over more than 15 years of research developed a commercial formula of the bio-compound after rigorous selection of more than 100 native isolates of the fungus to end up with the efficient Jn 14 which can be used as a safe alternative to toxic agrochemicals which are heavily used within the Palestinian vegetable grower’s community. This should contribute significantly to the wellbeing of the Palestinian agro-environment and improve the health status of the Palestinian farmer’s community.
