HU College of Education Holds Workshop entitled: ’Think of the Others’
As part of their coursework at the College of Education, Group Counseling students made a video in which they simulated people who have audio-visual and motor disabilities. Supervised by the course instructor Mr. Hafez Amr, all students participated in producing this video which is entitled ‘Think of the Others’. For over three months, they worked hard using the available means, such as phones and personal cameras. The purpose of this activity was to make ordinary persons feel the difficulties faced by people with disabilities through applying the method of “counseling by living the case”.
At the end of the workshop, which was attended by a large number of HU students and guests from the local community, Mr. Hafez Amr talked about HU support to the right of the disabled to education, employment and equal opportunities inside as well as outside the university.
The Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Nabil Al-Jundi, stressed the need to intensify such activities at the university. He also emphasized that the College of Education provides disabled students with all possible facilities in line with HU mission which calls for taking care of this important segment of the society. Finally, he thanked the students and the attendance for their participation in this activity.
