A Delegation from US Consulate Visits University Law College to Prepare for the Washington Jessup Moot Court Competition


 

A delegation from the US Consulate General in Jerusalem, Palestine, visited the College of Law and Political Science of Hebron University to conduct a preliminary moot court exercise in International Law for law students team who won the national round the Jessup moot court competition, as a preparatory step towards the global round scheduled to take place by the end of March in Washington DC. The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Sami Adwan, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mutaz Qafisheh, Dean of the College of Law and Political Science, and Mr. Bilal Fanoun, the team’s coach and lecturer of law at the University.
 
The Hebron University’s team conducted the pleadings and oral arguments in English in front of the visiting delegation, which also included guests from the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, American Bar Association, and Al-Haq. Hebron University’s team was composed of the following law students: Ms. Diana Hashlamon, Ms. Fatma Hermas, Mr. Thaer Oweiwi, Mr. Karim Katbeh, and Mr. Anas Natsheh. The bench of judges composed of Mr. Wisam Ahmed, Ms. Lina Fatoom, Ms. Mays Salehi. The trial was attended by Mr. John Dawson from the US Consulate, and Ms. Bahar Mir-Hosseini of the American Bar Association.
