Law School Signs a Cooperation Agreement on Refugee Rights
The purpose of the MOU is to contribute to the training of a group of qualified students capable to defend the rights of refugees, as there is a need for research on Palestinian refugees from legal, social, economic, political, and historical perspectives. This MOU, at the same time, forms the foundation for setting up a specialized refugee law clinic.
It is to be noted that the Law School has already started a program of cooperation with Badil Center during the current spring semester. This cooperation included organizing a field trip for law students to the city of Bethlehem that comprised visiting Badil’s library and Aida refugee camp. Badil’s Director also presented a series of specialized lectures for law students on the ongoing-displacement of Palestinians and on refugee rights, especially the right of return, as part of International Refugee Law course taught by professor Qafisheh.
