Hebron University Hosts a South Korean Peace Delegation
President of Hebron University (HU), Dr. Salah Zaro, and Dr. Mutaz Qafisheh, Dean of HU College of Law & Political Science, welcomed a delegation from Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and Restoration of Light(HWPL), a South Korea organization dedicated for the promotion of global peace.
The participants in the meeting discussed ways of cooperation between HWPL and HU on three fronts: (1) HU’s support to HWPL in establishing a branch in Palestine; (2) HWPL’s support to HU in establishing a peace academy to be located at HU campus; (3) developing joint courses on peace, as well as the possibility of having a master’s program in international law and international relations, with a specialization in alternative dispute settlements, religious tolerance, peace studies, disarmament, and war prevention. Dr. Qafisheh will discuss these issues further during his visit to South Korea capital, Seoul, later in September.
Dr. Zaro expressed appreciation to HWPL’s initiative and involvement in peace making, besides showing the interest of HU and the College of Law & Political Science in cooperating with Korean counterparts on issues relating to international law and peace studies.
