HU participates in a conference on innovation and sustainability in Palestine's agricultural sector

Hebron University participated in a conference on innovation and sustainability in the agricultural sector in Palestine so as to promote cooperation between higher education and the agricultural sector, the government, and farmers in Jericho.

This conference comes as part of the project " Palestinian Academic Agricultural Cooperation," funded by the Dutch government. The project aims to enable cooperation between the various actors in this sector, with a focus on the agricultural higher education. During the conference, which lasted for three days, the participants looked into the past, present and future of the agricultural sector. They made an overall picture of the issues and trends that affect it and how it should be in the future.

At the end of the conference, a program for change was proposed and endorsed by all present stakeholders: the government, businesses and farmers, higher education, donors, civil society, and young people who represent the future of the nation.

The conference was attended by Dr. Salah Al-Zaru HU President, Prof. Radwan Barakat Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Talaat Abu Rajab Chair of Plant Production and Protection Department and a member of the project's Steering Committee, and a number of teachers, researchers and students of HU College of Agriculture.
