Publishing a Paper by a Pharmacy & Medical Science Faculty Member on "Autophagy activation protects neurons and astrocytes against bilirubin induced cytotoxicity"
Pharmacy & Medical Science Faculty member Dr. Mohammed Ali Qaisiya along with a group of Italian researchers have published a scientific research named "Autophagy activation protects neurons and astrocytes against bilirubin induced cytotoxicity" in the scientific journal: Neuroscience letters - ELSEVIER.
The study looks into autophagy and its role in protecting neuronal cells from cellular death, apoptosis, which is caused by high levels of Bilirubin in the bloodstream, especially in newborns. The research shows that autophagy activation through specialized treatment could be one of the most important methods of protecting the brain from Bilirubin.
