Hebron University - 17.4.3 Education for SDGs in the wider community

1- The Alumni Unit supports 4 entrepreneurial projects in agribusiness and food

With the generous support of the Danish Government in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture and with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Green Jobs, Hebron University Alumni Unit is carrying out activities in support of the development of green projects for the Palestinian youth.

2- Department of Political Science organizes scientific visit to Bethlehem Municipality and Al-Ahliyya University

Public Relations Department at Bethlehem Municipality. Al-Araj talked about the U SOLVE program funded by the European Union, implemented in partnership with Ahlia University and other partners from several countries. She also discussed the importance of having such projects that help achieve sustainable development goals, especially with regard to the participation of women and youth, in addition to developing various sectors in cities.

3- The Media Department and members of the security services cannot

The Media Department completed a training workshop for more than 30 officers from various security services entitled “The Role of Security Media in Protecting the Security and Stability of Palestinian Society,” in cooperation with the Political and National Guidance Authority.

4- The College of Professions and Applied Sciences conducts a scientific visit to Saadia Al-Haddad Government School

Nursery and kindergarten students, under the supervision of the program coordinator,

Anwar Al-Jaabari, made an introductory scientific visit to the kindergarten of Saadia Al-Haddad Governmental School. In the presence of kindergarten supervisors A. Marwa Salah and A. Arwa Al-Hayeh and the school principal, A. Nawal Al-Dao, the female students of the College of Professions and Applied Sciences were welcomed, and the students were divided into groups and toured the kindergarten facilities accompanied by the supervisors, and were informed of the corners and their contents, and were informed of the sensory room, the resource room, the kindergarten environment, and the teaching methods used, noting that this kindergarten is exemplary and equipped with modern and advanced equipment.

5- Departments of Tourism and Antiquities, and Applied Geography organize scientific trip to Jordan

The College of Arts at Hebron University organized a scientific trip to Jordan for the students of the departments of Tourism and Antiquities, and Applied Geography. 42 students participated in the trip under the supervision of Mr. Mohammed Al-Adarbeh, Dr. Hassan Kaddoumi and Ms. Najat Dana. The trip program included a visit to Wadi Rum Reserve and the city of Aqaba, during which the prominent tourist attractions in the city were visited, such as the historic Aqaba Castle, the Museum of Marine Life and the Red Sea

6- The College of Nursing organizes lectures as part of the Pink October activities

As part of the Pink October Month activities for the College of Nursing and in commitment to the university’s vision of the importance of holding activities that benefit the local community, an educational activity was organized over two days by students of the Basics of Nursing 2, Internal Medicine and Surgical 1, and Gynecology and Obstetrics Nursing courses, under the supervision of Professor Suhair Issa, Iman Darawi, and Professor Musa Suleiman in cooperation. With Beit Jala Governmental Hospital about breast cancer and the mechanism of early detection.

Another educational activity was organized by students of the Internal and Surgical Course 2 under the supervision of Professor Heba Al-Sharha at Dura Governmental Hospital, about breast cancer and the mechanism of early detection.
