International Study Day at Hebron University
In cooperation with the legal clinic, the French Language Resource Center at the University, organized an international study day on two main themes: the French occupation of Algeria and the Ukrainian crisis, and in the presence of faculty members, students of the French language program and students of the Faculty of Law and Political Science.
Dr. Ibrahim Malloki spoke about the importance of holding and carrying out academic and scientific events that contribute to supporting students' knowledge and added that the events that took place today in Ukraine cannot pass in isolation from the interests of researchers in the humanities, social, legal and political sciences.
Professor Ludevine Pontinier, a historian, professor, and researcher at the University of Rouen-Normandy, France, addressed the focus of the "French occupation of Algeria" and spoke of the French state's justification for its colonization in Algeria, which began in 1830 and referred to the crimes committed by France in the colonial era. She also touched on the Ukrainian crisis and the Russian-led war ordered by President Putin in Ukraine, calling it an imperialist war and that Western powers were responsible for the war, particularly NATO, which did not stop spilling over to the point of encircling Russia.
Dr. Moataz Qafisha addressed the Russian war against Ukraine in the light of international law and compared it with the Israeli war against Palestine
Mr. Evin Bigchi of the University of Strasbourg, France, and Hanan Jaradat of the French Language Program of Hebron University reviewed through their interventions views and perceptions of the Russian war on Ukraine.
